Ever just need a few simple reminders of good communication? Here is a simple tidbit.
Earlier today I was prepping a client for a presentation to a big wig next week. I thought I would share it with you.
In this case, the perp was prone to cogitating during a presentation, making it ramble on and creating ennui among the audience.
- Clear your head.
- Don’t make the content more complex than it needs to be.
- Avoid the rambling. If you hear yourself start, simply stop.
- Be comfortable with a bit of silence. In fact, embrace it.
I like to remind myself to play the role of a listener in congruence with the role of the speaker. If you can concentrate just a bit on hearing what is coming out, it will aid you in seeing what needs adjustment.
