You want to take your leadership up a notch. And you are all about self-development to make it happen. You are ready for the next step towards the affable SUPER-LEADER! Don your cape!
Authentic leadership means aligning what you say with what you do with what you think. Once you achieve this, resonance occurs and you feel like you are in the zone.
Begin with an introspection of who you are as a leader. That may be a little tricky to put into words, so don’t overthink it. Perhaps it is more about observing how others may see you. Would they say you tend to lean towards collaboration in a pinch, that you put relationships above all? Or you are all about accountability. What about humor – does it save you often? LOTS of choices and assets to consider.
- Check out the list of values in this article at our sister site for Women in Leadership
- Identify your top FIVE. It may be easiest to pare down in chunks. If you have defined your values already, this is the chance to see if they have evolved in any way.
- Use this list as a daily reminder when you are making decisions, interacting with others, or managing yourself during stress.
This is obviously a big deal when it comes to developing leadership, so don’t wad this up and toss it in the can.
